NBA News: Kevin Durant might join Warriors next season

The NBA trade deadline is here and what's left are rumors, especially the ones involving big time players.

Kevin Durant's future with Oklahoma City Thunder has always been a big question.

With his name about to end up in the free agency list, many NBA teams are racing for his signature.

Among them are Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Wizards where he grew up.

However, in latest NBA trade rumors, it seems neither of those two will get the Durantula as sources said he will not go to a team that might not become title contenders. The team he might choose is reigning champs Golden State Warriors.

"The Lakers are not front-runners for Kevin Durant, he wants to win a championship," NBA Yahoo Sports' Adriana Wojnarowski told Fox Sports Radio.

"If he leaves Oklahoma, he may end up staying there and I've written that. Golden State is a team that is worrisome for Oklahoma City -- that's a team that has Kevin Durant's attention. Kevin Durant wants to win a championship right away and either he wants to do that in Oklahoma City with the group they have or he's going to go somewhere where he can win a title right away."

Wojnarowski also said that Kevin Durant has simple criteria regarding his future in the NBA. He will either join Dub Nation or move to a franchise that has enough wares to beat the Warriors.

The sure thing though is that he will not join the Los Angeles Lakers which right now is in rebuilding stage.

Kevin Durant to Warriors is an old rumor. This NBA trade rumor was also reported by Wojnarowski earlier this month.

"The Golden State Warriors' plan of pursuit predates their 2015 championship run, a bold plot to declare the futility of resistance," Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski said.

"It isn't only that the NBA champions are determined to recruit Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant, the truth is that they're the most intriguing destination for him. If Durant leaves the Thunder, the Warriors are the significant frontrunners to sign him, league sources told The Vertical."
