‘The Maze Runner Death Cure’ Movie News, Updates: Fourth Film Not Happening?

“The Maze Runner Death Cure” movie is reported to be released on February 2017, but apparently, instead of splitting it in two films, this will be last film for the franchise.

Collider reported that with only a year before the official release date, the third and final installment of the “Maze Runner” franchise will start production early this year. The film was adapted from the trilogy written by James Dasher.

While it may look like a fourth film may not happen, if the adaptation will continue to be based from Dasher’s books, then it is reported that Fox may extend the franchise. Dasher has reportedly written a prequel titled “The Kill Order” and another one, “The Fever Code,” will be dropped this year.

KFTV wrote that the first installment of “The Maze Runner Death Cure” movie was filmed in Louisiana then followed by the second filming in New Mexico. Once done, the film will be reportedly shown in Vancouver, Canada by March until June next year.

The initial film was reported to have earned a whopping $340.8 million across the globe, gaining positive reaction and reviews from film critics. The second film “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” was released last September where it dipped a little in earnings, only getting more than $312 million.

The movie will star Dylan O’Brien of “Teen Wolf,” Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kaya Scodelatio, and Will Poulter, Variety wrote. Wes Ball will still direct the final installment under the OddBall Entertainment company. He is represented by Stone Meyer, Gotham Group, and APA.

Director Ball will be joined by Joe Hartwick, Jr and they will reportedly operate the film under the Fox, wherein his company will continue on genre titles.
