'Five Nights At Freddy's Movie Release Date Delayed? Spoilers Reveal Real Animatronics Technology
A release date for the live-action movie adaptation of Scott Cawthon's "Five Nights at Freddy's" has been revealed.
There's still no word about an exact release date, although Datereliz alleged that the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie will drop within the year.
The publication revealed that Warner Bros. acquired the rights to Cawthon's franchise last year and that production commenced in early 2015.
The film is produced by Roy Lee, David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith of KatzSmith productions. Cawthon is onboard the project as well to ensure the adaptation's authenticity.
"We're looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie," Grahame-Smith told The Hollywood Reporter last year.
"The story really lends itself to being a movie, and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to."
Despite not having an exact release date yet, director Gil Kenan, who also directed last year's "Poltergeist," has been heavily teasing the movie's production on his Twitter.
@TheRealRoscoe I want this to be crazy practical - that's what makes animatronics so unnerving - they're REAL

The original "Five Nights at Freddy's" video game focuses on a security guard's night shift at Freddy Fazbear's restaurant, where various animatronic mascots perform children's songs during the day, but turn into something sinister at night.
The game is played by monitoring their movements through security cameras, strategically turning on lights and closing shutter doors and as they approach the monitoring room.
However, the doors and lights deplete electricity and if power runs out and the doors are open, the mascots get to you and kill you off.
Stay tuned for more updates on "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie release date update as information becomes available.
