Travis Barker Reveals Blink-182 Wrote An Entire New Album 'Trashed' It

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker reveals that the group scrapped a new album containing over 16 songs apart from the one they're currently working on.

Barker, 40, recently did an interview with Laguna Beach's KX 93.5 and revealed that Blink-182 had actually completed 16 tracks that were intended to be their follow up to 2011's "Neighborhoods," but ended up not using them.

"We actually wrote like 16 songs, then we trashed everything and we got back into the studio and did everything over," Barker explained.

The "Meet the Barkers" star, however, said that they're really close to wrapping up the new album.

"We are probably about 70-80 percent finished with our album and I think it's the best Blink album since Untitled," he said. "I can honestly say I haven't been this excited about a Blink album in a long time. I'm 120 percent in."

The upcoming album is the group's first without founding member Tom Delonge, who was kicked out late last year reportedly due to refusing to record material with the group.

Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba has since taken Delonge's spot in both live shows and the new album.

Last year, Barker admitted in an interview with NME that their sound has changed since Delonge's departure.

"They sound different but still the same," Barker said of the new material. "Obviously, it's Matt Skiba singing so there's hints of Alkaline Trio, or, at least, Matt's contributions to Alkaline Trio, mixed with my drumming and Mark's voice and stuff. It's really cool and I really love what we've done so far."

Producing the new album is Goldinger frontman John Feldmann, who previously worked on the albums of 5 Seconds of Summer, We Are The In Crowd, Panic! At The Disco, Atreyu, Black Veil Brides, The Used and Sleeping With Sirens.

Stay tuned for more on Blink-182's new album news as updates become available.
