The gaming community has been on the lookout for the latest "Cyberpunk 2077" news, as the game's developer has continued to remain mum on its release date.

But there is a possibility that the highly-anticipated sci-fi role-playing game could be rolled out by the end of this year based on "multiple reports," according to the Christian post.

These speculations however are in contrast with the earlier statements made by "Cyberpunk 2077" developer CD Projekt RED declaring that the game will not come anytime soon and will most likely arrive on 2017.

Based on the latest "Cyberpunk 2077" news updates gathered by the Christian Post, CD Projekt RED Community Lead and Website Coordinator Marcin Momot revealed via Twitter that the game "is still under development and doesn't yet have a release date."

Since the developer's announcement in 2012 that "Cyberpunk 2077" was already in the pipeline, fans have been eager to get their hands on the game which has been described by industry insiders in an earlier report by Korea Portal as "very exciting," as it will run on the REDengine 3.

Gamers will just have to content themselves with the latest "Cyberpunk 2077" news for updates on the title, as the CD Projekt RED is also currently working on the expansions of the critically-acclaimed game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt."

CD Projekt's Co-Founder and Joint CEO Marcin Iwinski however assured fans during the E3 2015 that the company is working hard to ensure the game's timely completion, as it has dedicated teams which are working separately on the two projects.

"The core team is working 'The Witcher 3's' expansions, but more and more people are moving over onto 'Cyberpunk,'" Iwinski said.

In the meantime, as expectations run high over what to expect from "Cyberpunk 2077," Forbes believed that "bigger" doesn't necessarily translate to better.

As gleaned from the improvements made by CD Projekt RED with "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," "Cyberpunk 2077" doesn't necessarily have to follow the same path.

"'Big' doesn't matter to me at all when it comes to this type of game," the Forbes article said. "What I want is compelling story, hard choices, and good game mechanics."

"If you can do that in thirty hours or so, I'm happy," the news site pointed out. "Games don't need to be hundreds of hours long with giant, forgettable maps and tons of busy work."
