Leonardo DiCaprio's Oscar Award Nomination: Is It The Ultimate Insult If He Doesn't Win Best Actor This Year?

All eyes are on Leonardo DiCaprio as he is once again nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor this year. Will his spectacular performance in "The Revenant" finally earn him an Oscar?

As fans may know, Leonardo DiCaprio has never won an Oscar award despite being nominated for Best Supporting Actor for "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," and being nominated for Best Actor for "The Aviator," "Blood Diamond," and "The Wolf of Wallstreet."

E! Online ranked DiCaprio's Oscar-worthy performances, noting that he wasn't even nominated in the Academy Awards for some of his movies.

"In some cases Leonardo wasn't even nominated for his incredible work, like with The Departed and Titanic!" E! Wrote. "But it seems like Leonardo's luck might be changing this year after his wins at the 2016 Golden Globes and 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards."

Not to mention, DiCaprio also recently won Best Actor in BAFTA, as reported by Daily Mail.

Things are certainly looking positive for the actor - as well as for the bookies.

"Britain's bookkeepers seem to have reached a consensus: The Revenant is going to win everything," Telegraph wrote.

"Unsurprisingly, The Revenant's leading man Leonardo DiCaprio's has cemented his position as the Best Actor frontrunner after his recent Bafta win; the five-time Oscar nominee has certainly waited long enough, and the Academy may feel that his time has come."

DiCaprio yet winning the Oscar Best Actor award has been widely discussed that a video game has been made about it.

"Leo's Red Carpet Rampage is a side-scroller that let's you run the Oscar race yourself, dodging paparazzi (and, weirdly, Lady Gaga) as you chase down the big win," Wired reported. "You can score bonus points by writing your acceptance speech and acting harder, but it seems very likely that-in a particularly mean twist-you can't actually win."

Fans are certainly hoping that Leonardo DiCaprio's fate in this year's Oscar awards will be the opposite of his videogame counterpart.
