‘The Mentalist’ Star Simon Baker Show Buff Form While Surfing Shirtless With Full Beard On
After "The Mentalist" series ended, Simon Baker really took a time off from filming and used the time to bond with his family and also focus on his hobby-surfing.
The 46-year-old actor was snapped tackling the waves in famous Bondi Beach in Australia.
Wearing a full beard, Simon Baker's appearance was a far cry from his squeaky clean and handsome persona on "The Mentalist," Patrick Jane.
"Since the show's series finale last year, Baker has returned to his Australian homestead, where the sun is warm and catching waves is a must," reported Radar Online.
"The hunky star also recently purchased a $6.5 million home near Bronte Beach with wife Rebecca Rigg," it said.
Simon Baker has been quoted as saying that he's looking forward to just be a regular guy in Australia after the hoopla surrounding "The Mentalist."
"I'm looking forward to enjoying the simple things socially, actually reconnecting with friends and family that I've been a little bit out of the loop with for the last seven years," Baker told The Telegraph.
"I'd love to be the assistant coach of my kid's soccer team, and actually be able to go to practice or just go camping."
After "The Mentalist," Simon Baker also moved on to direct "Breath," which combines his two loves--filming and surfing, which is based on the novel of the same title by Tim Winton.
"A pair of teenagers in Western Australia looking to escape the monotony of life in a small town take up surfing lessons from a guy named Sando," the synopsis for "Breath" reads.
Aside from directing, Simon Baker will also play Sando.
"I recognized a world I grew up in, where I knew all the characters," he told Screen Blog after reading the novel.
"I also thought it contained the best descriptions of surfing I had ever read. And what really appealed to me was the bigger theme of identity and where you fit in."
