Kim Kardashian A Curse In Kanye West’s Life? Rapper In Debt, Career Down Low?
Kanye West is reportedly saddled with a massive debt and his luster is quickly waning, and it's all allegedly because of Kim Kardashian.
According to Radar Online, since Kanye West got hitched to Kim Kardashian, his troubles quickly started.
"West's album sales dropped significantly after he became romantically involved with Kim Kardashian. His debut album, College Dropout, sold 4 million copies, but by 2013, Yeezus only registered 750,000 in sales," it said.
"His current album, The Life of Pablo, is only being made available on Jay-Z's streaming music service," it added.
But Kanye West explained, in a series of tweets collected by Vanity Fair, his $53 million debt has nothing to do with Kim Kardashian.
"I write this to you my brothers while still 53 million dollars in personal debt... Please pray we overcome... This is my true heart..." he began. "I don't have enough resources to create what I really can..."
"Yes I am personally rich and I can buy furs and houses for my family but I need access to more money in order to bring more beautiful ideas to the world," he added. "If I spent my money on my ideas I could not afford to take care of my family. I am in a place that so many artist end up."
Kanye West also claimed that some people in the industry have been using the knowledge of his debt as a tool for blackmail and he refuses to be back down into a corner again.
"For the past 3 years people who knew about the debt tried to use it against me in negotiations ..." he wrote.
Nevertheless, Kanye West has hinted that his future with Kim Kardashian won't be affected by the debt as he wrote, "I wanted the world to know my struggle... my dreams brought me into debt and I'm close to seeing the light of day..."
Kanye West's confession about being saddled with debt is quite surprising since he's worth about $145 million, according to multiple reports, and Kim Kardashian is reportedly worth $85 million.
