Michael Bisping Pens Blog For Fight With Anderson Silva Who Eyes Triumphant Return In UFC
Anderson Silva's return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship will be a hard one.
The Spider will fight equally savvy Michael Bisping and people expect a balanced duel between the two.
For 36-year-old Bisping, he is glad that he got the chance to fight the 40-year-old who many regard as among the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.
That plus the fact the fight, which is part of the UFC Fight Night 84, will be held in his home country.
"I've been in the UFC for over 10 years now, so I'm certainly not new to this game," Bisping said in his blog posted on Evening Standard. "But you could say there's something special about this fight. I'm back fighting in my home country, and I'm taking on one of the best guys in the world, so February 27th is a big, big night for me."
Anderson Silva returns to the MMA after his suspension due to PED was lifted.
Meanwhile, the English fighter did not talk about the issue on the blog like other trash-talking MMA artists.
Instead, he talked about how he tried to slow down on some of his routines because like Silva, he is aging.
Bisping said he is doing slightly lighter sessions for Silva but insisted he will still go all out against the Spider.
"Make no mistake about it, this is going to be a striking match," he said. "Anderson is a seasoned striker. He is incredibly confident on his feet and that's something I'll be watching out for. I've spent a lot of this camp preparing for that and making sure that I'm ready for whatever he brings."
Michael Bisping, 36, sports a 27-7 Win-Loss card in UFC. His last fight was in July last year wherein he won against Thales Leites via split decision.
On the other hand, Silva's last fight was in January of 2015 against Nick Diaz.
He won the fight via unanimous decision but the result was overturned after he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs.
