'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' Cast Member Dacre Montgomery's Intense Traning For The Film Revealed!

The cast of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" have started training for their roles in the upcoming reboot by Lionsgate.

According to Movieweb, the cast members of the original 90s series weren't put through intense training.

In fact, most of their fight sequences with monsters were just recycled from the previously existing footage. However, that isn't the case with the new film.

Dacre Montgomery, who plays the Red Ranger in the film, had this to say about his recent training session.

"Last training session today! A massive shout-out and a huge thank you to the guys down @waimaclub Phil, Andrew and Graham," the 21-year-old wrote. "It's been an incredible journey and I've come so far in the last few months and still have so much to learn and space to grow. I feel honoured to have been trained by you guys, such an inspiration! Time to get cracking ."

New Rangers RJ Cycler, Ludi Lin and Becky G. have also shared their training on their personal accounts. Naomi Scott, who plays the Pink Ranger, is the only cast member who isn't showing off her new moves on social media.

Last year, it was reported that "X-Men: First Class" writers Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller are working on the reboot's script with Brian Casentini, Alison Shearmur and Haim Saban of Saban Entertainment, the creator of the original TV series.

The reboot will be a retelling of the "Power Rangers," whose story centers on a group of ordinary high school students who are given special powers and giant robots to defend the planet from invading alien forces.

The franchise rose to prominence in the early 90's, airing on Fox Kids TV in 1993. The TV series' success spawned a feature film called "Mighty Morphin Power Ranger: The Movie," two years after the series aired. A sequel, "Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie" followed in 1997. The TV series ran until 1996 and updated every season with new characters and vehicles.

The "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" franchise is loosely based on a similar Japanese series called "Super Sentai Series." As a way to reduce production costs, the U.S. version recycled footage from the Japanese show.
