Will Season 6 Be Jon Snow's Last On 'Game of Thrones'? Latest Trailer Shows Characters' Futures?
"Game of Thrones" season 6 premiere is still more than two months away, but fans are so psyched for the TV return of the epic fantasy series as early as now especially after the trailer showing Jon Snow was released.
The season 5 finale showed Jon Snow on the ground, bleeding, right after he was stabbed by Brothers of the Night Watch who betrayed him.
"Snow's future has been the subject of rampant fan speculation for months," Us Magazine wrote about the trailer for "Game of Thrones" season 6. "The beloved character seemed to perish last season after he was stabbed numerous times by his brothers of the Night's Watch, but he continues to appear in marketing for the hit series' sixth season, including a teaser released in December."
Now that the trailer for the upcoming season has been released, fans are sure that Kit Harington will indeed reprise his role as Ned Stark's bastard in the show.
"It features solemn shots in the House of Black and White of those who have died in past seasons including Starks Ned, Catelyn and Robb, and King Joffrey," Independent described the "Game of Thrones" season 6 trailer.
"Jon Snow is also there, because it seems they're trying to keep up the whole 'he's dead' lie - though perhaps the masks hint at transformation and rebirth."
Lines from dead characters were heard on the trailer, including Ned Stark, Rob Stark, Catelyn Stark, and Joffrey Baratheon, before Jon Snow was heard saying "The long night is coming and the dead come with it."
Is it possible that season 6 will be Jon Snow's last on the show? Though the series is based on George Martin's books, it has veered away from the novel in season 6. In fact, in some parts of the story, the show is ahead of the books.
This is not the first time that Jon Snow was featured on a promotion for the upcoming season of the series.
"Last November, HBO released a poster appearing to show Snow alive, albeit not in great health," The Week wrote. "Now, the question on many fans' lips is: "How will he be resurrected?"
Fans will soon uncover Jon Snow's fate when "Game of Thrones" season 6 goes on air on April 24.
