Jimmy Fallon And Jimmy Kimmel's Competition Worsens As 'The Tonight Show' Ratings Hike?
"The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" recently proved its worth in NBC's late night line up as the talk show earned impressive ratings on Valentine's Day.
But has Jimmy Fallon's ratings success worsened the competition between him and fellow host Jimmy Kimmel?
Many believe that NBC might just have realized how significant the contribution of "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" is to the ratings battle against competitors.
"The network topped the key 18-49 demographic on Sunday with some 'SNL' and 'Tonight Show' Valentine's Day specials," The Wrap reported.
"CBS was just one-tenth of a ratings point behind and won handily among total viewers. ABC and Fox lined up next, in order, each one-tenth of a ratings point behind the network ahead."
Did the recent accomplishment of Jimmy Fallon's show made him appear as a better and more versatile talk show host than Jimmy Kimmel?
A previous article compared "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," analyzing what viewers like most about each show.
"In a face-off between Kimmel's Youtube Challenges and Fallon's Lip Sync Battles, it's really a matter of personal preference," The Loop wrote.
"If children crying over the idea of stolen Hallowe'en candy tickles your funny bone, you're probably a Team Kimmel player," the article continued. "Spend your weekends at the local karaoke club? Fallon's battles with the likes of Emma Stone, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and Paul Rudd are probably more up your alley."
So, is there a brewing personal competition between Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel? It's highly unlikely as the two comedians seem to get along well.
Jimmy Kimmel previously joked about the inconvenience of having the same name as his late night show competitor, Jimmy Fallon.
"My only complaint about Jimmy Fallon is the first name: Jimmy," Kimmel told Esquire, as quoted by E! Online in 2014. "People get us mixed up all the time. No one remembers which Jimmy is which," he says. "Or they think I'm him, which can only make you feel like you should be him."
"Jimmy Kimmel Live" first aired in 2003, while "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" was first shown in February 2014.
