'One Piece Film: Gold' 2016 Expected To Rake In Earnings Amid Success Of “One Piece: Pirate Warriors”
It seems that "One Piece" fans can't get enough of Monkey D. Luffy. Not only are fans eagerly anticipating the release of "One Piece Film: Gold," but "One Piece: Pirate Warriors" is also reportedly widely patronized by gamers that the sales of "One Piece: Pirate Warriors" has reportedly gone above one million.
"Total worldwide sales for One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3, which is available across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PC, have topped one million, Bandai Namco announced," Gematsu.com reported.
"A new One Piece game, One Piece: Burning Blood, is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan on April 21, PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and Xbox One in North America on May 31 and in Europe on June 3, and for PC in North America and Europe in June," the report continued.
The article also broke down the sales of "One Piece: Pirate Warriors," with Japan on top of the list where 380,000 units were sold.
Producers are hoping that the sales success of the video game could also translate to solid box office support for the anime movie, "One Piece Film: Gold."
It has been previously reported that a new anime movie is underway
"One Piece will be getting a new anime film in summer 2016," Anime News Network reported last year. "The film will be the 13th in the franchise."
There's a big chance that "One Piece Film: Gold" producers wouldn't be disappointed when it comes to fan support. After all, "One Piece" is one of the most popular manga/anime franchises in the world.
"In total, 78 volumes of the tankobon manga have been published to date, and the series has over 320 million copies in print," Otakumode.com reported. "It was even awarded the Guinness World Record for 'most copies published of a comic book series by a single author.'"
Fans continue to wait for updates about "One Piece Film: Gold" as well as "One Piece: Burning Blood," which is the upcoming game coming out after "One Piece: Pirate Warriors."
