Shania Twain Rock This Country Tour Cancelled? Singer Diagnosed With Respiratory Illness
The Canadian singer has no choice but to pull the plug on two of Shania Twain's Rock This Country Tour dates due to a diagnosed illness, E!Online reports.
The country superstar started the Shania Twain Rock This Country Tour in June this year, performing across various cities in US and Canada. The concert is expected to feature her new music and at the same time her greatest hits such as "You're Still the One," "From This Moment On" and "That Don't Impress Me Much."
Twain has to cancel her Oct. six and seven shows at Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester and Times Union Center in Albany, respectively. All tickets will be refunded as the said dates will not be re-scheduled. Twain, 50, apologized for the inconveniences it caused to her fans who are looking forward to see her. The announcement has been released via her official Facebook page.
Also, the announcement includes that the singer was advised by medical professionals to take few days off to rest as she is currently diagnosed with a respiratory infection. The actual illness is never stated. The tour will resume on Oct. 9 which will take place at Videotron Centre in Quebec City.
While Shania Twain Rock This Country Tour has been said to be her last, the singer clarified that she is not going to retire from making music. She is even working on her new album and she said that it is currently on its early stages. According to her, "This is certainly not my retirement from music. I will be doing music for sure until the day I die," according to Billboard.
Twain rose to popularity in 1995 when she released her second album "The Woman in Me." It sold over 20 million copies worldwide and earned her a Grammy Award in 1996 for Best Country Album. To date, she has a total of 4 studio albums, 2 compilations, 35 singles, and 3 remix albums.
