Jon Jones next fight is April vs Daniel Cormier

Jon Jones' next fight is a rematch against Daniel Cormier and will take place in two months time.

Before that big day, Bones, the nickname he is also known for, must iron out his mess involving traffic charges in the court.

"Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones' day in court on a trio of traffic charges is delayed until March," MMA Junkie reported.

"Jones was due to be arraigned at the Albuquerque (N.M.) Metropolitan Court, but his case is now set for a trial on March 23 at 9:00. The ex-champ pled not guilty to the charges and a judge granted a waiver that allowed him to skip his hearing."

So Jon Jones next fight is on the court before the one in the octagon. Will it affect his preparation for Cormier?

That will be determined on April 23.

The former number one light heavyweight MMA fighter was cited for driving without license and registration on Jan. 31 and was supposed to appear in court on Wednesday of the same week.

This was the second traffic-related controversy that Jones got embroiled within two years.

In April last year, he was stripped of his belt for hit-and-run incident that left 25-year-old pregnant woman with a broken arm.

He was able to strike a plea agreement with the state and was only given supervised probation instead of jail time, on the condition that he will not break any law. He obviously did not do good in the promise.

Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier first fought in 2015 wherein the former won via unanimous decision.

This time, however, Jones need some catching up to do after he was suspended for the aforementioned case.

On the other hand, Cormier was able to get back up quick after Jones defeat as he faced and win against Anthony Johnson on May 23 of the same year. He fought again in October and won against Alexander Gustafsson.
