'Gotham' Season 2 Return Spoilers: More Iconic Batman Villains Confirmed! EP Names A Few
"Gotham" season 2 release date will arrive in just two weeks and this will mark the arrival of another fan-favorite villain according to spoilers.
The 12th episode of the second season of the Fox TV series, also the first since November 30, is titled "Mr. Freeze," obviously a reference to the ice-loving, trigger happy Batman villain of the same name.
He will be played by Nathan Darrow from Netflix show "House of Cards."
Mr. Freeze's arrival in "Gotham" season 2 is big as executive producer John Stephens said his appearance in the show will open doors for other Batman villains.
He told Comicbook.com that portraying Dr. Victor Fries is something "wanted to get there, to do these kinds of villains set in our world."
Among the villains he wants to incorporate in the show are Solomon Grundy and Killer Croc, both of whom are not grounded by reality. Stephens said they are still looking for ways to get them into the story.
"I feel like those characters are out there, and if we can figure out a way to do them where the reality of our world can stay intact, approach them in a way where people say 'I can imagine them existing in our world,' then yes, I'd keep us open to all of those characters," he added.
"We're hesitant to go down any mystical routes. If we can solve those riddles ourselves, it'll be exciting to have those people in our world."
"Gotham" season 2 release date is set on Feb. 29 and aside from Mr. Freeze, the city and lead character Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) will also be terrorized by other villains like Dr. Hugo Strange (B.D. Wong), The Penguin, a guilt consumed The Riddle and The Order of St. Dumas.
That's a lot of villains. So what kind of preparations should fans do when "Gotham" season 2 release date arrives?
An entertainment publication warned viewers should not eat anything while watching.
"The midseason premiere picks up about a month after Galavan's death, with Gordon coming under fire for his role in that night - and he'll really feel the heat when Penguin lands behind bars," Entertainment Weekly wrote.
"With Cobblepot otherwise indisposed, we see a new alliance when it comes to the leadership in the underbelly of Gotham. Also, we'll find out what happens when someone is, ahem, unfrozen by Mr. Freeze. (Pro tip: Don't eat while watching.)"
