MacBook Pro 2016 Rumors, Release Date, Specs: Has Mac Lost Its ‘Identity’? June Roll Out Seen?
As the excitement generated by the latest MacBook Pro 2016 rumors reaches fever pitch, particularly on the next-gen laptop's release date and specs, some industry insiders believe that its arrival is "high past time."
Know Your Mobile in fact didn't mince words, as it candidly declared that the current MacBook line "is a mess."
With Apple's current line-up of notebooks - the ultra-thin 12-inch MacBook, the thicker (and now badly named) 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro, and the 15-inch MacBook Pro - the tech site feels that the MacBook has "lost its identity."
The online portal even posed the question, "Why is the MacBook thinner than a MacBook Air, for example?" and then added, "The nomenclature doesn't make sense."
Know Your Mobile likewise gave its two cents worth to MacBook Pro 2016 rumors, as it hinted that Apple might decide to address the aforementioned issues during the WWDC in June.
"Expect a refinement of the line including a spec-bumped 12-inch MacBook, new 13- and 15-inch MacBook Airs and new, completely redesigned MacBook Pros with Skylake processors and USB-C ports," the tech site said.
In the meantime, as MacBook Pro 2016 rumors centering on the device's release date and specs continue to swirl, Apple's Mac series product shipments for 2016 are expected to remain constant at 20 million units, according to Digital Times who quoted industry sources.
But despite the flat shipment performance for this year, the tech site anticipates that the new MacBook and iMac products for 2016 will "boost the company's overall product ASPs."
Quoting the same sources, Digi Times disclosed that "the supply chain are expected to start producing new 12- and 13.3-inch MacBooks at the end of the first quarter or in early second quarter, and 15-inch models in the third quarter."
Apple experienced a slowdown in shipments, as the company only shipped out 5.312 million Mac-series products in the fourth quarter of 2015.
This figure is a 7 percent drop from the previous quarter and a 4% from the previous year.
