Fans of the "Star Wars" saga may not be seeing Hayden Christensen reprising his role as either Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader.

According to a report from Youth Health Mag, it would be unlikely for the "90 Minutes in Heaven" star to make it to the filming of the next movie in the franchise, "Star Wars Episode VIII."

Sources say "Star Wars Episode VIII" is being rewritten to maximize the characters introduced in the previous episode.

"Previous reports have already pointed out that there are rumors of re-writes on the next 'Star Wars' and it seems episode 8 will focus entirely on the characters introduced in 'The Force Awakens,'" the new site speculated.

The rewrite would likely lead to a delayed release date, a year after the anticipated return of "Episode VII" last December.

"While production was meant to get underway very soon, it looks like things may be slightly delayed as the script may be getting one final rewrite before it's screen ready," Cinema Blend said.

Cinema Blend added that the rewrite meant two new characters would have reduced screen time in the "Star Wars" sequel.

In an earlier post, Youth Health Mag said Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker and Hayden Christensen would return to the latest "Star Wars" movie.

Hamill's involvement in the continuation of the series was confirmed at the very last scene of "Star Wars Episode VII: the Force Awakens."

Nevertheless, Hayden Christensen's likeness was featured in a concept art for the next trilogy of "Star Wars," according to Comic Book.

In a photo featuring the art work, Anakin's face appears to be divided in half.

"There's still a little bit of Darth Vader left in Anakin's Force ghost, leading the site to speculate that perhaps should he appear in an upcoming movie, Anakin's light side and Vader's dark could be in conflict," Comic Book said in a post.

Meanwhile, The Daily Record wrote that Ewan McGregor, who played the younger Obi Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy, is already rumored to be on board for "Episode VIII."
