HP Part 8: ‘Harry Potter & the Cursed Child’ Film Adaptation Underway After Play And Book Release?
Muggles outside the U.K. are excited to uncover the story of "Harry Potter" part 8, entitled "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," as J.K. Rowling announced that the two-part play will be released as a book in summer.
BBC reported that both plays are set to open in London's Palace Theatre on July 30. The book will be released soon after.
"Print and digital editions will publish simultaneously after the play's world premiere this summer, and will comprise of the version of the play script at the time of the play's preview performances," Rowling's website Pottermore announced.
"Theatre previews allow the creative team the chance to rehearse and explore scenes further before a production's official opening night," the entry continued.
"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opens for previews several weeks before its official first performance on Saturday 30 July and the Special Rehearsal Edition of the script book will later be replaced by a Definitive Collector's Edition."
According to the publisher of Harry Potter part 8, releasing "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" as a book gives Potterheads in other parts of the world to enjoy story set 19 years after the last book.
"We are so thrilled to be publishing the script of 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,'" David Shelley, CEO of Little, Brown Book Group said, as quoted by CNN.
"J.K. Rowling and her team have received a huge number of appeals from fans who can't be in London to see the play and who would like to read the play in book format -- and so we are absolutely delighted to be able to make it available for them."
With the upcoming cinematic release of Harry Potter spin-off movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," is there a chance that "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" could also be turned into a movie or a two-part movie series after the London play and book release?
Fans could only speculate as of now, especially since J.K. Rowling and her team could be focused on the theatrical and book release of "Harry Potter" part 8 to tackle yet another project.
