A handful of football transfer rumors are claiming that Manchester City is making a move in order to acquire current FC Barcelona striker Neymar Jr. Despite this interesting prospect, some sports analysts are skeptical whether Manchester City have enough tricks in order to get the attention of the Brazilian sensation.

Some football transfer rumors claim that Neymar has been told by some of its teammates to turn down the offer from Manchester City if he wants to win the coveted Ballon d'Or award.

Fellow Brazilian and teammate Adriano advised Neymar to stay with Barcelona since moving to Manchester City could hurt his chance to be crowned the world's best football player.

"He must stay at the club if he wants to win the Ballon d'Or. Neymar is happy at the club. People do not have to worry," Adriano said per Manchester Evenings. "There are things that come from outside to try destabilize us."

On the other hand, Manchester United is also looking to acquire Neymar.

Football transfer rumors claim that the Red Devils are trying to make a bid for the Brazilian striker in order to show Manchester City how pesky they are as a neighbor.

"Mourinho looks to set to pip Pep (Guardiola) to the big summer signings, with the odds suggesting Neymar is the first man in his sights," Ladbrokes' Ben Stones said, according to Metro.

Rumor has it that Jose Mourinho will most likely be the next manager of Manchester United. Allegedly, he plans to acquire some of the top talents in the international scene, starting with Neymar.

There are football transfer rumors claiming that Mourinho is also trying to bid Cristiano Ronaldo to return to the Old Trafford.

Other names that are currently in the shortlist include Ever Banega, Nicolas Gaitan, Sergio Ramos, Eden Hazard, Luka Modric, Cesc Fabregas and John Terry.
