2016 Ford Falcon Gets Two Limited Edition Sprint Models; Details, Specs Available Here
Ford is giving one of its most iconic brands a worthy send-off. The Falcon is expected to roll off the production line on Oct. 7 and the American multinational company recently unveiled the 2016 Ford Falcon Sprint Edition of the XR8 and the XR6 Turbo.
The two upcoming cars sport additional power, torque and a fresh design.
According to Drive, both the XR8 and XR6 Turbo models of the 2016 Ford Falcon Sprint will come with a retuned 5.0-liter V8.
The XR8 model is capable of producing 345kW worth of power with 575 pound-foot torque. Additionally, Ford added an overboost function to the XR8 Sprint which can improve the car's power to 400kW and 650 pound-foot.
The XR6 Turbo Sprint received an even bigger upgrade with 325kW worth of power and 576 pound-foot torque. With the overboost turned on, the car gets a staggering 370kW power and 650 pound-foot torque.
The XR6 Turbo Sprint will be released exclusively with a six-speed automatic transmission while the XR8 Sprint will have a six-speed manual or automatic model.
According to Motor Mag, both 2016 Ford Falcon models will be available in six color variants - Winter White, Aero Blue, Victory Gold, Smoke, Kinetic and Silhouette. All the colors, except white, will cost an extra $500.
Both the XR8 and XR6 Turbo 2016 Ford Falcon Sprint will sport a 19-inch black alloy wheels. They will also have a six-piston front brake and a four-piston rear brakes, both manufactured by Brembo.
In terms of exterior design and features, the two 2016 Ford Falcon Sprint models will have new front fog-lamps, a new bumper vent and a new strip decal. They will also receive brand new Sprint badges with Sprint scuff-plates, a black colored rear deck spoiler, black headlamp bezels and a unique build plate.
The Ford Falcon XR6 Sprint will cost $54,990 while the Ford Falcon XR8 Sprint will cost $59,990.
Ford will officially launch the new 2016 Falcon Sprint series in March.
