New ‘Tales of Symphonia’ Updates Released; Patch Notes Fix Controller Button Icons, Mouse Cursor, Localization Issue
Despite negative reviews that has flooded for "Tales of Symphonia" PC port, Steam has proven that the situation is under control by providing latest updates and fixes.
On February 1, it was reported that Bandai Namco Entertainment released the Windows Pc port of the 2003 role-playing game "Tales of Symphonia," but fans soon discovered that the quality is not of the modern standards.
As reported, the game was pretty bad on PC with a default rendering of 720p and 30FPS resolution lock. In addition, users said it has a sloppy localization.
On the next day after the launch, Steam released its patch notes with written description.
"We thank you once again for your patience and understanding regarding the technical issues experienced with Tales of Symphonia. Our team was able to resolve the technical issues," pointed out by Steam.
Steam released bug fixes for added VC++2013 redist to the installer configuration and advised users to launch the game to allow the installation.
It was posted that they have fixed the log file writing error in which the game will be no longer attempted to write on C: drive. And that assured users that the save and customize menu will not cause delays upon opening.
Furthermore, they have included fix on localization. It's discussed that they implemented the various location fixes to the menu, relocated localization file and clarified it's no longer editable.
At the end of the announcement, Steam encouraged fans to provide their honest feedback for the improvement of the game.
"We will continue to remain diligent regarding technical issues and greatly appreciate your feedback," Steam added.
However, Steam did not just stop there. It released another set of patch notes in its Community Hub that fixed the controller button icons, mouse support, and menu localization issues.
In the additional notes of Steam, the company announced that it is still addressing other issues mentioned by fans and assured the "Tales of Symphonia" gamers that updates will be given as soon as possible from the same Community Hub forum page.
