Saosin ‘Sentimental’ Over New Album, Says It Was ‘Healing’ And Very ‘Heavy’
Post-hardcore band Saosin announced their new album to be released later this year. Diffuser reported that frontman Anthony Green is "sentimental" over the comeback project, adding that it was "healing" and "very heavy."
News about Saosin's new album coincided with the release of a 30-second preview clip of their new music. The Newport Beach-based band, known for hits such as "Seven Years" and "You're Not Alone," also announced that they have signed to Epitaph for their upcoming release.
Saosin's new album is the first project of their original singer in 13 years. Anthony Green was part of the band's 2003 EP "Translating the Name," but unexpectedly left in 2004 due to creative differences. The frontman went on to form Circa Survive, while his original band released two more full-length projects with new singer Cove Reber.
After releasing the self-titled "Saosin" in 2006 and "In Search of Solid Ground" in 2009, Cove Reber was reportedly fired from the band in 2010.
In a press release, Anthony Green talked about returning to Saosin for their new album after everything that their band has been through.
"Making this record was such a sentimental thing for me," he said. "You can literally hear us making amends with each other while lamenting on our experiences together."
"It was very healing and cathartic, and might be the heaviest thing I've been a part of since the first EP," Anthony Green added.
According to a report from Punk News, the returning frontman will also embark on a tour with his band this March.
Alternative Press also previously reported about how guitarist Justin Shekoski announced that they are working on new material.
"We will still be writing new music and working towards a great future," he said. "Saosin [are] a group of brothers that all have different things, projects and schedules going on."
