LG to honor two heroic coast guards who died while rescuing construction workers.

Samsung Galaxy S7's rival, the LG G5, has been confirmed to feature "Always On" mode too.

In an exclusive GIF file from Android Authority, the upcoming LG G5 features an overhauled LG G4. However, it has a "twist."

"The GIF shows a variety of smartphones gradually growing dark, until the silhouette of the LG G5 appears with the time and date (of the LG press conference at MWC 2016) displayed above a series of notification icons, very similar to what you would find on the LG V10's second screen. The text "Always On" then appears alongside the LG G5 logo," Android Authority reported.

The "Always On" mode is said to be a full-screen version of the V10's second screen. This reportedly means possible customization of display is in tow.

But tech experts speculated that full LCD display has higher battery consumption than AMOLED display.

On the other hand, Samsung has previously trademarked the "Always On" display which is likely to be included on its upcoming flagship.

With that, Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 are expected to come out with the same feature. However, Samsung will surely edge out LG as it will be using an AMOLED display.

Per the rumor mill, the LG G5 will feature a smaller screen of 5.3inch compared to its predecessors.

Gadget leakster Evan Blass recently revealed on Twitter that LG finally ditched the plastic design on the G4 and opted for a metal finish, as shared by Gizmodo.

Similar to upcoming flagships, the LG G5 will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset along with a 3GB of RAM.

Also, it will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with LG's very own UI on top of it, PC Advisor reported.

Official specs and features of the LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7 will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona, Spain.

Stay tuned for more updates.
