Josh Duggar Update: Lawsuit Dismissed, Arranged As Preparation For '19KAC' Return?
Josh Duggar's sex molestation scandal may have negatively affected the reputation of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's brood last year, causing them their TLC reality show. And now that rumor updates claim that there is a chance of "19 Kids and Counting" returning on air, are the Duggars cleaning up their reputation to get fans back on board?
It has earlier been reported that a stripper named Danica Dillon is filing assault and battery charges against Josh Duggar.
"He picked me up and threw me down on the bed and bent me over and was pulling my hair, calling me a dirty slut, telling me that I deserved it," Dillon reportedly told Hustler, as quoted by The Hollywood Gossip. "The whole time he's degrading me and telling me I'm worthless."
"When I pushed him away, he pinched my lips together and spit on my face."
Dillon reportedly sued the former "19 Kids and Counting" star for $500,000 in damages.
However, according to an update from the Duggar Family, the case has been dismissed.
"In late January, the Plaintiff requested that the case by withdrawn 'without prejudice,' as she wanted to have the option to file a new complaint based on the same occurrences," a blog post in the Duggar Family blog wrote. " Josh and his attorney refused the offer."
"On Friday, both parties signed to allow the case to be dismissed 'with prejudice,' which means the Plaintiff cannot file another complaint based on the same occurrences," the blog update added. "Likewise, Josh agreed not to request the Court to rule that the allegations made against him were false."
Did the "19 Kids and Counting" family lawyers settle with Dillon to permanently quash the charges and any scandalous statements that Dillon may make in the future?
Speculations are yet to be clarified. On the hand, the family already addressed online buzz that "19 Kids and Counting" could be having a reboot this year.
"As of right now, there has been no official, public word from either TLC or the Duggar family regarding the possibility of a new show," a separate Duggar Family blog post said.
Fans continue to monitor updates about Josh Duggar as he undergo treatment in a "faith-based" facility in Colorado after his cheating scandal last year.
