Motorola Droid Turbo 2 To Get Marshmallow Update In February? Lucky LG Users Receive Update

The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will definitely receive the much-awaited Marshmallow update in the wake of user complaints regarding the handset's questionable performance.

According to the Lawyer Herald, the company has stood firm in its decision to release the software update in order to avert further damage to the unit, and preserve the company's standing in the industry.

Motorola's woes started when irate consumers posted comments on social media forums to rant about technical problems involving the Droid Turbo 2, particularly the green line which appeared on the device's LCD display.

A user who called up the company's customer support to ask for assistance to resolve the problem was reportedly told that the green line could have been the result of the phone being dropped.   

Verizon, the exclusive distributor of the smartphone, has explained that the handset was "shatter-proof" but not "shock-proof."

The company hopes to finally address this technical issue affecting the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 through the Marshmallow update it is scheduled to release by February or March. 

Among the Motorola devices that have received the software update include the Moto G (2015), Moto X (2015), and Moto X Pure Edition (2015).

Other Motorola models that are in line to receive the update are the 2014 Moto G (2nd Gen) and 2014 Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd Gen).

Meanwhile, as Motorola Droid Turbo 2 owners ranted about the glitches in their handsets, a number of LG G3 owners who subscribe to Verizon unexpectedly received the Marshmallow update, according to Droid Life. 

This came as a surprising move to many, considering that Verizon didn't come out with an earlier official announcement regarding the rollout, nor updated its software page for the G3.

It is also uncertain how many smartphone owners received the Over The Air (OTA) update.

Droid Life theorizes that the software update could have "slipped out to a few and is still very much in testing."

With this development, Motorola Droid Turbo 2 owners must be shaking their heads in disbelief as they anxiously await the arrival of the Marshmallow update on their phones.
