The most-talked-about season 2 of the hit game "Life is Strange" has been confirmed by the developers from Dontnod Entertainment themselves.

However, when will the release date be?

In an article published by Game Spot, it was reported that the game is already in development. Moreso, the company's co-founder, Alain Damasio recently released a statement to a French publication.

In a translation published by Reddit user Koyl, Damasio said that he worked as a script doctor for the first game.

"I worked as a script doctor on 'Life is Strange,' developed by the studio Dontnod, and I will participate in 'Life is Strange 2' later," he said.

According to Video Games Blogger, the sequel to the hit game may finally arrive either this year or in 2017.

"Everyone's asking that question, and the short answer is a guess for end January 2016 at the earliest and more realistically January 2017 at the latest," the publication claimed.

To add to the news about the confirmation of "Life is Strange" season 2, it can be remembered that the company has already hinted at the possibility of a follow-up to the first game before. In a previous interview with Polygon, game producer Luc Baghadoust expressed his interest in a second game.

"I would love to have the opportunity to do another season," he said.

In addition to the release date news, Art Director Michel Koch teased that there will be a new set of characters.

"We can really go with other characters, other locations, but still keep the identity of the game, the themes of the game," he said.

Since the statements have been published, fans have been expressing their excitement about the follow-up game.

However, while some are reacting positively to the "Life is Strange 2" confirmation, some are a little distraught with the idea of the new release focusing on a different character.

They are saying that the producers might as well come up with a completely different game since the first season pretty much established the characters of Max and Chloe too much to let go.

More news about the release date of the now confirmed season 2 of "Life is Strange" will be reported on as soon as updates become available.
