NBA Trade Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers Wants To Trade Roy Hibbert, Larry Nance Jr.
Rumors have it that the Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly planning to sit tight while other teams are scrambling to make a bid on potential trade prospects as the NBA deadline approaches.
However, new speculations surfaced that the Purple and Gold are planning to wrest Blake Griffin away from a conference rival as they put big men Roy Hibbert and Larry Nance Jr. open for trade options.
The latest NBA trade rumors claim that the LA Lakers are looking to swap Hibbert for the younger Greg Monroe of the Milwaukee Bucks. Reportedly, the Purple and Gold are planning to send the center to a playoff worthy team and the Bucks could just be the perfect pick, noted Yibada.
Since his entry into the team, Hibbert has not exactly lived up to the team's expectations, according to Inquisitr.
Some sports analysts pointed out that it might be because of player rotation. Others said it may also be due to the overall gameplay dynamics of the team that has greatly affected Hibbert's performance on both ends of the floor.
In other NBA trade rumors, Hassan Whiteside has been bandied about as another prospect for the Lakers. The shot-blocking big man would be a perfect complement to a young team desperate to have inside presence.
However, the Lakers will most likely need to give two players in order to get the Heat interested. Possibly, the expiring contract of Roy Hibbert and the cheap contract (as well as the upside) of Larry Nance Jr. will be offered, along with some other trade pieces.
The Lakers are investing on the long future of the team. Evidence to this is the team's relatively young lineup composed of Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson and rookie D'Angelo Russell.
In any case, Hassan Whiteside could be a great asset to the Lakers' current lineup now that Kobe Bryant is playing his last season, at least if the NBA trade rumors are true.
