"Friends" star Matt LeBlanc confirmed his new hosting stint as the latest co-presenter of "Top Gear."

The 48-year-old actor will join Chris Evan at BBC's newly-revamped motor show and will replace previous host Jeremy Clarkson. It can be recalled that the former host was sacked in the show after punching one of its producers.

"As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I'm honored and excited to be a part of this iconic show's new chapter," Matt LeBlanc said on his new job for "Top Gear" as reported by the Economic Times. "What a thrill!"

Meanwhile, Chris Evans, who has fronted the car show since last year after its major revamp, was also "thrilled" on working with the actor.

"Matt's a lifelong fellow petrolhead and I'm thrilled he's joining Top Gear," Chris Evans said.

He added that it is also a dream job to work with up while "acting out our craziest car notions on screen."

Meanwhile, amidst his new stint for "Top Gear," new presenter Matt LeBlanc has opened up about his family life in an interview.

Following the success of "Friends" where he played as Joey Tribbiani, LeBlanc has faced a number of problems on his marriage and on his daughter's health condition.

"My daughter was diagnosed with a problem with her head," the actor told the Daily Mirror as reported by Telegraph UK. "It was a very dark period. But I got through it. Don't they say what doesn't kill us makes us stronger?"

Now that Matt LeBlanc's daughter Marina has already surpassed the debilitating condition, the "Friends" star said that he is devoted to making time for his kid who is now 11.

"We make breakfast, go horseback riding, hiking, I really try to offset this computer age kid thing that's going on now with as much time outside," he said. "Spending time with her is the best thing I've ever done. We have a great bond and it's the best thing in my life."

Before the "Top Gear" stint, Matt LeBlanc rose to fame for his part in the hit show "Friends" where he reportedly earned almost $1million (£690,000).

When the show was debunked, he starred at the show's spinoff entitled "Joey" but it only lasted a few episodes due to viewers' flop.
