The "X-Men: Apocalypse" Super Bowl commercial is said to be darker than its previous promos. However, several fans of the comic book's big screen adaptation have also dubbed it as the best 'X-Men' film to date."

According to a report from Mirror UK, 20th Century Fox unveiled the said advertisement over the weekend. The teaser featured the movie's star-studded cast, including Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Hugh Jackman.

The film will reveal the world's first mutant, Apocalypse, who will be played by Oscar Isaac. With the main villain's extinction plan, the X-Men team unites to save mankind.

"Only the strong will survive," read the main text of the 30-second promo.

As background music, the "X-Men: Apocalypse" Super Bowl ad also featured a Coldplay cover of "Don't Panic" by Clarity. The singer excitedly shared her proud moment via Twitter. "Guys my cover of @coldplay #DontPanic was used in the new 'X-Men' trailer," she wrote. "I'm screaming!"

Cinema Blend also reported about the said promo. A movie summary focused on the history and the plan of Apocalypse.

"Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god," the summary read. "Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible."

"Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants[...] to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign," the summary added.

The dark yet exciting promo then went on to tease about how the X-Men will go up against possibly one of their strongest enemies.

"As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction," the summary detailed.
