NBA Trade Rumors: Almost All-Star PG Goran Dragic Targeted By Houston Rockets?
Moving to another team is like getting the chance for a fresh start for any basketball players. And it look like Goran Dragic will get another shot at a new beginning, if the recent NBA trade rumors are true.
Dragic, who almost became an All-Star player a couple of years ago while he was with Phoenix Suns, is reportedly being eyed by the Houston Rockets. The said team is not denying that there is a hole in their backcourt.
The Serbian point guard was traded to Miami Heat in February last year and so far, he has not gone back to his best form yet.
"Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey, according to ESPN, continues to eye Dragic even after he signed his five-year deal this past summer with the Miami Heat," Sir Charles in Charge reported.
"The report, by Kevin Pelton, goes on to say that Dragic is Morey's 'white whale,' and names Dragic one of the Rockets' potential trade targets."
ESPN also noted that if Dragic's NBA trade rumors push through, he might find himself in a situation similar to what he experienced with the Heat where Dywane Wade is the main man. But reportedly, it would not be a problem with the James Harden-led Rockets because of his run-and-gun style.
"Though playing Dragic with Harden would create some of the same issues Dragic currently faces next to Dwyane Wade with the Miami Heat, his up-tempo style would be ideal for the team's second unit," the publication said.
The Rockets have been inconsistent so far this season. Before the start of the 2015-16 NBA calendar, the team signed Ty Lawson from Denver Nuggets in hopes of boosting their backcourt but it that did not pan out the way they expected it to be.
According to rumors, the player was put on the trade block and some of the NBA teams have already showed interest. He is currently averaging 6.5 points per game along with 3.8 APG.
Rockets are currently placed on the seventh spot in the Western Conference with 27-27 Win-Loss record and is 5-5 in their last 10 games.
The NBA trade deadline is on February 18.
