2016 Toyota Prius Four: A Worthy Refresh Of Manufacturer's Classic Brand Now Features Sleek Design
The 2016 Prius Four is the most recent iteration of Toyota's Prius brand. As with its previous models, the new model did not disappoint. Sporting a sleek new design, the vehicle stands out from other flagship hybrid cars that are currently out in the market.
During the time when fuel was expensive, the Prius stormed the market with its practical hybrid engine which was its biggest selling point back then and probably the car's biggest asset.
In these times when fuel is once again at its cheapest point, some market analysts are saying that hybrid cars are losing their touch and are slowly becoming a thing of the past.
Newer and more technologically advanced electric cars from Tesla and other companies are also becoming a bigger threat to the hybrid market.
However, the 2016 Toyota Prius Four stands out on top of everything else with its smart and sleek design. The new model now looks more like an elegant sedan rather than a blown science experiment, according to LA Times.
Per Master Herald, the 2016 Toyota Prius Four costs $30,000 for its top-of-the-line model.
Powering the new Prius is a 1.8-liter, four cylinder engine supported by an electric motor running on a lithium-ion battery. What is more impressive is its mileage, estimated to be around 52 miles per gallon for combined city and highway driving.
Toyota estimated that the engine puts out about 95 horsepower and 105 pound-feet worth of torque. What sets the new Prius on top of its predecessors is its design which can now comfortably hold five passengers.
Toyota also upgraded some of the Prius' technological features.
The car now supports keyless ignition which also unlocks the door and turns on the interior lights as soon as it detects the owner to be near. It comes with heated front seats, blind-spot monitor, rear-cross-traffic alert, traction control and stability systems.
