As the NBA trade deadline looms, rumors are circulating that the Los Angeles Clippers may be letting go of their prized ward Blake Griffin.

Industry sources have disclosed to Forbes that Clippers management is currently in the midst of talks with other teams in an apparent move to trade the five-time NBA All-Star.

According to sources who are privy to the talks, there is a possibility that the six-foot-ten-inch power forward might be moving over to the Denver Nuggets.

Nuggets executives are now said to be in the process of figuring out if it makes sense for the team  to acquire the services of the NBA's number one overall draft pick for 2009.

As Denver races to beat the NBA trade deadline, rumors have surfaced that its management may still having second thoughts in signing in Griffin,  as it doubts if a player of his stature will be willing to re-sign once he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

But it seems the 2011NBA Rookie of the Year has the odds stacked in his favor, as he can actually exercise an early termination of his five-year, $95-million deal in 2017.

The 26-year-old Oklahoma native is considered as one of NBA's marque players, as he had appeared in various TV commercial including KIA, the official car of the NBA.

In the meantime, the Houston Rockets is intent on beating the NBA trade deadline, as rumors indicate that the team will be keeping Dwight Howard for the rest of the season, reported ESPN.

According to ESPN sources, the Rockets have no intention of trading the six-foot-eleven-inch center before the Feb. 18 deadline even though he becomes a free agent by July 1.

This means that if the flamboyant rebounder decides to leave Houston this summer, he won't be getting anything in return.

ESPN's sources however revealed that the Rocket's "grant plan" is to lure Kevin Durant into its fold before the NBA trade deadline expires.

The team's management believes that it has very good chance of getting Durant because of his strong relationship with former team mate James Harden.

For his part, Howard doesn't want to be traded, hoping to finish this season with Houston before he starts negotiations with the team after his contract expires, according to ESPN sources.

As the NBA trade deadline approaches and rumors continue to fly thick and fast, fans can expect a lot of major changes in their favorite team's lineup.
