iPad Air 3 Vs Surface Pro 4: Which Device Brings You A Better Price-To-Specs Ratio And Performance?
With the rumored release date of the Apple iPad Air 3 closing in, it could be a matter of only a few weeks till consumers have to face the dilemma of choosing their personal favorite between iPad Air 3 and Microsoft's Surface Pro 4.
While still a hypothetical standoff because the Air 3 is yet to hit the store shelves, it's obvious that the iPad Air 3 vs Surface Pro 4 battle will kick off soon.
The Surface Pro 4 is hailed by many as the "laptop killer" hybrid tablet from the Redmond, Washington-based Windows maker. Powered by an Intel Core m3 up to a Core i7 Skylake processor, the Surface Pro 4 is indeed a pretty powerful alternative to bulky laptops - especially for all those who often require working on the go.
Key Surface Pro 4 specs include, 4GB to 16GB of RAM, 128 GB to 512 GB SSD storage, 12.3-inch display with a resolution of 2,736 x 1,824p, 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. The device runs on the Windows 10 Pro OS platform.
Compared to that, word on the street suggests that the iPad Air 3 could come with a powerful A9X processor, the lauded Apple pencil, and the Smart Connector, a new interface that exploits the two-way conductive fabric in the Smart Keyboard to offer a superior user-experience.
Meanwhile, another recent report by Chinese portal DigiTimes claimed that the Air 3 will carry a larger 4K display, 4GB RAM, larger battery (compared to current iPad Air), but no 3D Touch.
Meanwhile, ExpertReviews reported that the next-generation iPad Air could also include the Smart Connector as well as the Pencil that will allow users to draw or write directly onto the screen.
Unfortunately, because the iPad Air 3 is still not here, it wouldn't be fair to make conclusive statements about which of these two devices would bring you better performance and a higher specs-to-price ratio.
However, Gizmodo believes that the real standoff would be between the MacBook Air and Surface Pro 4 as the higher-end Surface Pro models could offer some serious challenge to Apple's laptop.
