'Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt' Episode 2 Release Date Set On Feb. 12; Teaser Trailer Dropped
Bandai Visual has released a teaser for episode 2 of "Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt," ahead of its release date on Feb. 12.
The one-minute long teaser offered a glimpse at the continuing battle between the Earth Federation Space Force and the Zeon Empire.
As many already know, music plays a major part in the "Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt" series. Based on the trailer, it seems that episode 2 will still rely heavily on musical scoring.
Kou Matsuo is directing the four-part "Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt" series with character designer Hirotoshi Takaya for Sunrise studios.
The series features Yūichi Nakamura as Io Fleming, Ryohei Kimura as Daryl Lorentz, Mutsumi Sasaki as Burroughs, Toa Yukinari as Claudia Palh, Shunsuke Sakuya as Graham, Sayaka Ohara as Kara Mitchum, Daisuke Hirakawa as Cornelius Caca and Hiroshi Tsuchida as J.J. Sexton.
In line with the release date news, Fandom Post reported that the anime follows of the battles of the Earth Federation against the Zeon in the Thunderbolt sector previously known as Side 4 "Mua."
"The Thunderbolt Sector is a shoal zone composed of the debris of destroyed space colonies, named for the electrical discharges from the metal debris," the website wrote. "MS pilot Io Flemming is among the Federation soldiers who are dispatched to the area, where Zeon sniper Daryl Lorenz awaits them on the battlefield."
"Mobile Suit Gundam: Thunderbolt" is originally adapted from Yasuo Ohtagaki's original manga from 2012 and takes place in the same timeline as the original "Mobile Suit Gundam."
For 800 yen, fans can purchase episode 2 with bonus footage when the release date arrives. It is also available for rent for 400 yen.
The pilot episode was made available on YouTube through GundamInfo from Dec. 25 until Jan. 7th.
