'Overlord' Season 2 Release Date Set For 2016? Lupusregina Beta To Make A Comeback?

Some speculations tease that the release date for the season 2 of the "Overlord" anime series has been set for 2016.

The recent rumors suggest that the earlier season of the anime series worked wonders in Japan and thus carved a way for the release date for the season 2.

Moreover, there are speculations that the release date has been set for this year in spring as the online streaming services of the "Overlord" series received an overwhelming response and increased the chances for season 2, My Anime List reported.

Further, some users from the forum claimed that the manga series of "Overlord" has many chapters that can be covered in the season 2 of the anime series.

"Well it has enough source material and it sounds like it's selling well so there's a good chance it'll get one eventually," claimed user Senpai from My Anime List discussion forum.

In the meantime, When-will.net reported that the release date for the "Overlord" season 2 has not yet been renewed by the Madhouse studio. 

The website also noted that even though the studio has not officially confirmed the release date, they haven't announced its cancellation either.

Moreover, with the release date rumors, some spoilers for the expected season 2 are also trending on the discussion forums.

Further, there are speculations that the upcoming second installment of the anime series will mark the return of one of the important characters, Lupusregina Beta, claimed Overlord Wikia. 

It is also rumored that his presence will be shown in the Fortified Carne village.

"The last episode of season 1 seems to hint towards the end of a future season with Albedo's mentioning of the Lizardmen, the fortified Carne Village and Lupusregina Beta's presence there (foreshadowing to some of the events in Volumes 7, 8, 9)," speculated user Mathias Dante from Overlord Maruyama Wikia.

Furthermore, some Disqus users speculated that the new season 2 of the "Overlord" anime will focus more on Nazarick.

"The second season will put some good efforts on politics between countries and Nazarick," claimed user Bow from the forum. "I really want to see politics and financial and territory battles and struggles."
