Fans of the widely acclaimed franchise "Kingdom Hearts" are mixed with emotions as there has been both good and bad news circulating around regarding the upcoming installment "Kingdom Hearts 3."

The Bit Bag recently reported that fans were disappointed, as they look forward to the release date of the highly anticipated game ever since it was announced that it will be pushed back until 2017.

It was revealed in an interview with "Kingdom Hearts 3" director Tetsuya Nomura that the release date of the game was indeed moved further to 2017, as reported by Games TM.

The source noted that the reason behind it was that it will take the developers quite some time in order to make better adjustments for the new engine of the game.

"The transition was quite a process," Nomure explained in an interview with Games TM. "We pretty much had to start from the ground again. We had to make sure that we could recreate our key effects in the Unreal Engine and that the effects we specifically needed for Kingdom Hearts could be adapted."

He further explained the progress of the game as to why the release date needed to be pushed further.

"We were also developing a Kingdom Hearts-specific shader and we had to make a lot of adjustments so we could use that shader on the new engine," he added. "That goes a long way to explaining the long distance between the announcement and now when we're able to reveal more information about the title."

Meanwhile, fans were elated to entertain rumors and speculations about the characters being added to "Kingdom Hearts 3."

There have been speculations circulating around that the iconic Winnie The Pooh character might join the list of characters in the game as Jim Cummings unveiled via panel during the 2016 Albuquerque Comic-Con that he has finished his work on the project, according to Design&Trend.

"You see the character and you're doing the voice to the character, and that's how we do it for 'Kingdom Hearts,'" he said. "It's coming from Japan, and they have a different word for everything."

"None of the lip flaps ever match, so we're trying to paraphrase the original script into English. 'Kingdom Hearts III' is done, or, at least, my stuff is, and I don't know when it's coming out."
