The Cure Deciding To Release New Album; Fans Speculate Its Release During The 2016 Tour
The last time fans have heard of new materials from the widely acclaimed band The Cure was back in 2008 with their album "4:13 Dream," which was intended to be released as a double album.
However, Vivid Seats revealed that the latter half of the double album was never released due to circumstances.
On to 2016, it was recently reported that The Cure's frontman Robert Smith revealed that he hasn't forgotten about the second half of their 2008 album and is actually planning to release it as the band's new album under a tentative title of "4:14 Scream," according to RollingStone.
The source also noted that Robert Smith explained in an interview with XFM that he was trying to convince himself that he should release the remaining half of their 2008 album, which became a sore point during that time for the band.
The Cure's frontman also went on to detail that the abandoned half of their 2008 album contained some of his favourite slower songs.
"And as a consequence a number of my favorite slower songs and instrumental pieces were left unfinished and unreleased," he said. "Compiling a single CD album required a different approach (for one thing there was no longer the time to 'spread out' and connect the different moods as I had originally intended)."
Despite the lack of an official announcement from the band or its representatives regarding an exact release date for the new album, fan forum Cure Fans claimed that the followers could not help but speculate for themselves that the latest record might be unveiled sooner than they think.
The band's official website stated that the 2016 Cure Tour will be featuring unreleased tracks on their set list.
A fan and forum member, who goes by the name of Ulrich, went on to post the details of the 2016 Cure Tour, which gave away hints for speculating that the new album might be released soon enough.
