'Gravity Falls' Finale 'Weirdmageddon 3' Promises A Huge Sacrifice; Renewal For Season 3 Not Happening?

As the "Gravity Falls" finale "Weirdmageddon 3" comes closer to the finish line, fans are excited to know on what might possibly be in store for the characters as the hit animated series finally comes to an end. 

According to the recent spoilers, "Gravity Falls" episode 20 "Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls" will come into view with a final showdown, adding that huge sacrifrice from the Pines family will be taking place on the last minute.

It was previously reported that showrunner Alex Hirsch has dropped hints about the much-awaited "Gravity Falls" episode "Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls." On his personal Twitter account, he wrote "At least one character will not survive the season. Buckle up."

Speaking of, the spoilers suggested that the sacrifice will follow after the final showdown between Bill Cipher and the Pines family. While it has not been disclosed yet as to who will make the "greatest sacrifice," it has been hinted that one member from the Pines family will die.

While news about the series' possible renewal for its third instalment has been all around the internet as of late, with fans trying to bring their hopes up for another "Gravity Falls" chapter, a new report claimed that the adventures of Mabel and Dipper Pines may not pushing through after season 2.

It was said that the well-embraced series will also be coming to an end for real, following reports claiming that show creator Alex Hirsch is allegedly in the works for a new project with Fox and 20th Century Fox TV.

"I wanted Gravity Falls to have a mystery that had a real answer, an adventure that had a real climax, and an ending that had a real conclusion for the characters I care so much about." Hirsch said via Tumblr, according to Variety.

He added, "I know that hits are rare in this business, and it's hard to let one of them go, so I'm so grateful that this company has had the vision to let me start (and end) the show the way I always wanted."

As for his alleged new project, Hirsch confirmed the speculations on Twitter and wrote, "The rumors are true! I'm cooking up some new strang projects for some new strange places. 2016 is gonna be a crazy year buddies."

The "Gravity Falls" finale titled "Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls" airs on February 15, Monday.
