Cote De Pablo’s Ziva Won’t Return To ‘NCIS’ Season 13? New Characters To Be Introduced Instead?
While a lot of fans could have been waiting for the return of Cote de Pablo's Ziva David in "NCIS" season 13 prior to the exit of Michael Weatherly's Tony DiNozzo, recent spoilers may just dampen their spirit.
CBS entertainment president Glenn Geller revealed during the Television Critics Association press tour that the team handling the show had no plans for the comeback of Tony's love interest, according to TV Insider.
It was noted that "according to Geller, who said there are 'not currently' any plans for that character to return to bid DiNozzo farewell," contrary to what others have speculated.
Moreover, the TV executive pointed out that it was really Michael Weatherly's decision to leave the show.
"The decision to leave was his," he said.
In the meantime, while there is no plan to bring back Cote de Pablo to reprise her role in "NCIS" season 13 as Ziva, it was learned that the team was busy writing the script in consideration of Michael Weatherly's departure as an agent.
"[The producers] are working on how Michael's character will be written out," Geller stated.
Apart from this, the team was likewise considering another development in the series' plot as it thought of bringing in new characters.
"The producers are working on a couple of roles right now," Geller dished. "It's not a direct replacement of Tony DiNozzo, but we are looking at a couple of additions this season."
On the other hand, it can be recalled that in early January, the network behind the successful drama series announced the departure of Tony DiNozzo, as shared by "Us" magazine.
"After 13 years on NCIS, Michael Weatherly is leaving the show at the end of this season," CBS reportedly said in a statement.
What do you think of this report on Cote de Pablo's (im)possible return as Ziva in "NCIS" season 13? Do you think there is no more hope for Tiva's quick reunion?
