Super Bowl 2016 Halftime Show: Rihanna Expected To Perform? Find Out The Artists Confirmed To Appear
The Super Bowl 2016 halftime show is expected to be star-studded just like the usual.
Among those confirmed to perform in the grand American football stage is Coldplay. Also expected to entertain the crowd are Beyonce and Bruno Mars, both of whom have already performed in the halftime show before.
But it seems the artist line-up is getting bigger.
"Coldplay last week announced a U.S. tour and released a new music video featuring Beyonce, who is reportedly joining the halftime show this year after headlining in 2013," Metro US reported.
"Rihanna, who just released a new album, is also reported to be a potential performer."
However, there's no confirmation yet about the pop singer actually performing at the Super Bowl 2016 halftime show. Accordingly, her name was dropped only because she and Coldplay collaborated on one song in the latter's new album.
The closest Rihanna got to a Super Bowl appearance was the latest promo for the event wherein she said "I'm worth the wait."
Performers at the Super Bowl 2016 have a huge shoes to fill after Katy Perry set the record last year for bagging the most-watched halftime show in history with 118 million views.
"In an incredibly divided and fragmented media environment, the Super Bowl halftime show is absolutely one of the biggest, if not the single biggest way to expose music to an enormous audience," said Brian Hiatt, senior writer at Rolling Stone.
Meanwhile, Coldplay's Chris Martin is confident they will provide a good show during the event.
"I feel like we sound the way we always wanted to," Martin said during an interview with CBS Sunday Morning. "We feel at peace with what we've done to get here."
Super Bowl 2016, which will pit Denver Broncos against Carolina Panthers, will take place on Feb. 7 at the Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, California.
