‘Gambit Movie’ Having Production Problems? ‘X-men: Apocalypse’ Set To Crossover Spinoff
Fox's anticipated "Xmen" spinoff movie "Gambit" has been rumored to have production delays, and speculations said that the movie's original release date will be moved. Filmmakers revealed that "Gambit" would apparently be influenced by "X-men: Apocalypse."
As recalled, Channing Tatum's "Gambit" has been rumored to be having difficulties in setting a director that will pull off the movie. Though producers already found the perfect match in the helm of Doug Liman to direct the film, there were lots of choices at the start before everything was concluded.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joe Cornish, Shane Black, and F. Gary Gray were some of the names that producers considered to do the film. After Rupert Wyatt, the original director of the film reportedly dropped the production and the movie release has been postponed.
"Wyatt was set to direct the stand alone "X-Men" film, but on Sept. 16 dropped out of the production, citing a scheduling conflict with an unnamed project. But a studio exec who previously worked with the Rise of the Planet of the Apes director said that Wyatt's departure was over creative differences, saying, "He wants to make the best version of something, and he's so desperately afraid of making something not good," the article revealed.
On the other hand, producer/writer Simon Kinberg shared how "X-Men: Apocalypse" could affect the movies featuring "Deadpool" and "Gambit."
"This movie ["X-Men: Apocalypse"] takes place chronologically before those other films. The world of "Deadpool", the world of "Gambit" exist in a post-Days of Future Past, post-Apocalypse world where all of these stories are the same as our shared history, the same way that each of us, of different ages, knows about Nixon and knows about Reagan and knows about 9/11, our fictitious events like the stadium dropping on the White House in 1973 is part of the world in which "Gambit", "Deadpool", everybody, "Wolverine" on forward exist," IGN reported.
Though speculations said that the "Gambit" movie will be moved to December from October, which is the original release date, fans still can't wait to see the "X-men" installment movie that will showcase Channing Tatum's action moves.
