Ellen Page Talks About Coming Out; ‘Juno' Star Gushes About Girlfriend Samantha Thomas!
Ellen Page recently talked about her coming out and said that it was more important than having movies. The "Juno" star also gushed about her girlfriend Samantha Thomas.
"Being out within my life became far more important than being in any movie," the 28-year-old Canadian actress told The Guardian in an interview.
However, she confessed that she feared of having lesser movie roles due to her sexuality.
"I'd be lying if I said that wasn't something I feared, and that's the big reason so many people haven't come out," the openly bisexual added.
In 2014, Ellen Page came out as gay at a conference for the young LGBT community in Las Vegas, Independent UK said in a report.
Since then, the "Juno" actress has been vocal in expressing her opinion on LGBT matters, as she said she wanted to be the voice of those who are still in silence.
She added that she felt like it was a "social responsibility" to the young who had also shared the same pain that she felt when she was still hiding in the closet for years.
"I felt guilty for not being a visible person for the community, and for having the privilege that I had and not using it. I had got to the point where I was telling myself, you know, you should feel guilty about this," she concluded.
Meanwhile, Ellen Page has also been vocal about her relationship with her girlfriend Samantha Thomas.
The actress recently gushed about her surfer and artist girlfriend, whom she called as "awesome."
"She's awesome and we have so much fun together," Ellen page told E! News at the Sundance Film Festival. "We love each other and support each other. It's the best."
