"Fashion Police" cast member Melissa Rivers addressed the ongoing Oscars boycott.

According to a report from Us Weekly, the executive producer of E!'s hit fashion critique show seems to relate to the Academy Awards controversy following the racists feud that her show got into last year.

After it was revealed that almost all of this year's Oscars nominees are white, a boycott has been proposed by several people throughout the entertainment industry.

Because of how she and her late mother Joan Rivers have been red carpet staples during awards season, Melissa Rivers was frank about her insights on the issue.

"You have to remember, the tail doesn't wag the dog, the dog wags the tail," she started. "Everyone is angry at the tail. The problem is the dog."

"Until that problem is solved, and there's a larger pool of roles and performances, you're going to find yourself in this situation."

Perez Hilton also reported about Melissa Rivers' interview, where she admitted that there are a lot of questionable moves in this year's nominee selection.

"Of course, some amazing performances were overlooked!" she said. "I feel badly for the president of the Academy, because not only is she a woman, she's black. If anyone's going to be sensitive to this situation, it's going to be her."

"There's a systemic problem with opportunities for different races in Hollywood and I'm glad there's attention being put on it."

Similar to how the Oscars is being criticized for allegedly being "too white," "Fashion Police" cast member Giuliana Rancic also dragged their show into a racist controversy last year. The E! mainstay's jokes about the dreadlocks of teen star Zendaya Coleman caused so much backlash that the show had to go on a six-month hiatus to make the issue die down.

People reported about how the show returned to better ratings and reviews after Melissa Rivers decided to be a "Fashion Police" cast member. She was also joined by new hosts Nene Leakes and Margaret Cho.

"I think we really started to find our footing those last few episodes that I hosted," she said. "So now that we have our feet underneath us, I think we can start to explore creatively a little bit more."
