Trade rumors about NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks are once again in the mill now that the deadline is fast approaching. The question this time is which team will he join, or will he waive his no-trade clause.
The Knicks recently had a blowout win against the Phoenix Suns. The match, which marked the return of Anthony following two absences, paved way for the team to snap out of their four game losing streak.
According to Inquistr, Anthony finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
"He didn't try to take over the game. He has been playing that type of basketball for several weeks now," Knicks head coach Derek Fisher of the player per ESPN.
"When he's sharing the ball and making everyone else better, we're a much better basketball team."
Many sports analysts agree with Fisher's statement.
The Knicks' success this season hinged on how good Anthony is playing on the floor. Stats show that the Knicks is 0-6 when Anthony is not playing while the team posted a respectable 23-20 win-loss record when he is on.
Should the trade rumors involving Anthony come true before the deadline on Feb. 18, Knicks might be losing its chance to make it to the NBA playoffs.
Anthony is Knicks' most valuable asset and should the organization decide to let him go, they should make sure that they will get an equal or even better deal.
NBA analysts believe that in case the Knicks decide to make the Anthony trade rumors a reality, it will include a high draft pick or a younger talent.
Another important fact to consider in the said trade rumor is Anthony's health. The 31-year-old star has been plagued by injury in his left knee, the same knee that was surgically repaired in February 2015.
Both the Knicks organization and Anthony said that there is nothing structurally wrong with the player's knee. However, the small forward claims that he is feeling some discomfort with it every time he plays.
