La Liga Transfer Rumors: Chelsea Lets Diego Costa Go? Striker Set To Make Comeback?

The January transfer window usually prompts Premier League football clubs to make all the necessary moves in order to boost their lineup. The latest, and probably major, transfer rumors involves Chelsea's Diego Costa and his possible return to La Liga.
According to a handful of rumors, Atletico Madrid is keen into re-acquiring the 27-year-old striker. Some analysts claim that the Spanish club is making moves in order to bring Costa back to Calderon in exchange of Jackson Martinez.
On the other hand, there are some who believe that the transfer is most unlikely to happen.
"Chelsea are unlikely to make a deal. Neither hitman would be eligible to play in the Champions League if the swap took place which is the main reason it is unlikely to happen now," according to The Sun.
Sources claim that Costa had been in constant communication with his former Atletico Madrid teammates. Despite being unconfirmed, reports claim transfer rumors that Costa is still aiming for a return to the La Liga club.
If Costa is indeed looking at a possible return to the Spanish club, the transfer will most likely occur in the far future. Atletico Madrid is banned by FIFA from registering new signings within the next two transfer windows.
The ban was imposed when it was discovered that Atletico Madrid breached rules regarding international transfers and the registration of player who are under 18 years old. Atletico Maded is currently contesting the allegation and will appeal the decision of the football body.
Despite of these hurdles, rumors claim that La Liga's Atletico Madrid is still considering to push the transfer deal in the coming summer.
Costa has been in great shape these past few weeks following Chelsea's recent managerial overhaul.
Chelsea's new manager, Guus Hiddink, was pointed as the main catalyst that fueled Costa's recent revival. Since Hiddink's entry into the club, Costa scored six goals in his last six matches, according to Daily Mail.
