Will a "Phineas and Ferb" spin-off finally be happening?

The director duo behind the animated series, Dan Povenmire and Jeff Marsh, hinted at the chances for a spin-off in coming years.

Povenmire also teased the possibility that "Phineas and Ferb" cartoon will find their way back to the big screens.

"Never say never," he claimed as reported by Observer. "They're still making 'Scooby Doo' episodes and we're sort of the 'Scooby Doo' of a generation so I could imagine ten years from now someone dusts this off and, without or without us involved, they make more."

Moreover, the speculations for the spin-off also surfaced when the duo commented that the show will be telecasted on the Disney channel for a long time and that they expected that someone would want to make few more episodes.

"Animated cartoons don't usually get, to say goodbye," said Povenmire, as reported by Huffington Post. "It's going to play forever on the Disney Channel. There are so many episodes that by the time you're done watching all of them; you'll be ready for the first one again."

Moving on, Cinema Blend reported that the animated television series aired around four seasons since 2007 and broadcasted its last episode on June 2015.

Disney XD even marked the end of the series with a 3-day-long marathon, until the finale of "Phineas and Ferb" season 4.

Phineas and Ferb Wikia reported that the storyline of the animated series is all about the stepbrothers, Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher. The television show also showcased a pet named, Perry, a secret agent for O.W.C.A, an animal-friendly organization to fight against the evil scientist, Dr. Heinz.

While many fans are hoping for a spin-off to the widely popular cartoon series, the creators are now reportedly busy with a new project titled, "Mikey Murphy's Law," The Variety confirmed.

The new show will reportedly be centered on Mikey and his secret identity connected to the Murphy Law's creator. The new show from the duo is rumored to be an animated comedy series and will be aired next in 2017.
