Some sports analysts might consider the Golden State Warriors as a team that rely mostly on its ace player Stephen Curry. However, the other half of the Splash Brothers recently proved that they are more than their main man.

Klay Thompson stepped up in the game against the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 28 and scored 45 points in a big win against the Mavs, 107 - 127.

Thompson's recent exploit was a season-high record. He was there to rally the Golden State Warriors on a night when Stephen Curry only posted a modest game.

Thompson was on fire shooting 14 of 20 making seven three-pointers as well as a perfect 10 of 10 free throws, according to Kolo TV.

Draymond Green added 10 points and three rebounds while center Andrew Bogut had four points and nine big rebounds.

The Warriors posted a 58 percent field goal percentage with 48 percent shooting on the 3-point territory.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr commended Thompson's performance as published via NBA.com.

"It means it doesn't bother him too much when he misses shots, so he keeps shooting, which we want him to do. It also means he's fine taking a backseat to Steph," he said. "It works well."

"There always has to be a little bit of pecking order in the NBA. Klay's personality suits that second option."

Despite the slow start in the first half, Stephen Curry opened the second half with three quick 3-point shots. The reigning MVP finished the night with 14 points and nine assists for the Golden State Warriors.

It was also a good night for the Warriors' bench players, who collectively added 41 points.

On the side of the Mavs, Chandler Parsons led the offense with 23 points and seven rebounds. Deron Williams and Raymond Felton each had 12 points. Coming from the bench, J.J. Barea contributed 14 points and dished out five assists.

The Warriors is set to face the Philadelphia 76ers on Jan. 30.
