'Jurassic World 2' News: Bryce Dallas Howard Might Take Over Chris Pratt As Lead In The Sequel

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard have been confirmed to reprise their roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing in the follow-up "Jurassic World 2."

However, recent reports suggest that Dallas Howard's character will undergo a massive change and might take over Chris Pratt as lead in the sequel.

"Claire is a different person now," Howard said in an interview with E! Online. "The person she is at the end of the [first] movie is not the person she was in the beginning. Her armor of sorts was that white, pristine outfit with heels in a very corporate environment and stuff, and the chick at the end -- totally different."

Dallas Howard's character was criticized for being in heels for the entire duration of the first film, but it seems that 26-year-old has already addressed the issue.

When asked if the shoes are making a comeback, the actress replied, "No," adding her character "better not be in heels."

Not much is known about the sequel's plot, although there are rumors that it will involve weaponized dinosaurs. In the first film, Vic Hoskins told Owen and Claire that InGen had plans to weaponize dinosaurs in the future.

"Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow also confirmed the possibility of the rumored weaponized prehistoric creatures.

"I feel like the idea that this isn't always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment," Trevorrow said in a statement published by Entertainment Weekly. "And when you look back at nuclear power and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponize it and later on we found it could be used for energy."

Dr. Henry Wu, who escaped the park in with dinosaur embryo at the end of "Jurassic World" is also believed to play an important role in the follow-up.

Trevorrow won't helm the sequel as he is set to direct "Star Wars: Episode IX." He is still on-board the project as co-writer along with Derek Connolly.

Stay tuned for more on Chris Pratt and Dallas Bryce Howard as updates on "Jurassic World 2" become available.
