'Outlander' Season 2 Cast News: Brianna Finally Found! When Will She Appear?

After several months of waiting and a bunch of fan speculations, "Outlander" season 2 cast Brianna MacKenzie is finally here and she will be played by someone "close" to her description in the book.

Briana is the second daughter of Jamie and Claire who first appeared in Diana Gabaldon's second book of the series "Dragonfly in Amber."

"The wait is over, Outlander fans: Starz has finally found the young woman who will play the daughter of Jamie and Claire," an exclusive report from Entertainment Weekly said.

"Newcomer Sophie Skelton has been cast to play Brianna in the series adapted from Diana Gabaldon's best-selling books, EW has learned. For those who don't know the character, Brianna is described as a striking, redheaded young woman who is strong-minded and intelligent beyond her year."

Series executive producer Ronald Moore made an "Outlander" season 2 cast update two weeks ago regarding Brianna and they surely fulfilled their promise.

The question now is when Skelton's Briana will appear. According to Moore, it might take a while.

"You will get to see [Brianna but] not until we get back to the 1968 story, which won't be for a while - towards the end of the season," Moore he told Zap2it.

Skelton is a newcomer known for her appearances in "Les Miserables," "Fiddler on the Roof," "West Side Story" and "Mary Poppins." She also appeared on TV via "Waterloo Road," "DCI Banks," "Doctors" and "Foyle's War."

She joins other new "Outlander" season 2 cast members like Richard Rankin as Roger Wakefield, Lionel Lingelser as King Louis XV of France, Dominique Pinon as Master Raymond, Audrey Brisson as Sister Angelique, and Marc Duret as Joseph Duverney.

"Outlander" season 2 is set in France and will see the main couple take on political missions while facing their own personal struggles.

Moore said that "Outlander" season 2 release date could be around March or April this year.
